Not a baby anymore!

Yay it's finally springtime and the sun is shining and it is starting to warm up. This means more time to spend outside with walks around the neighborhood, walking practice in the backyard, swinging on the swing, and trips to Capron Park Zoo.
Jaxson loves to read books. He hands you books to read and turns the pages while jabbering pretending to read them.
He is such lil ham. Always smiling, laughing, and being silly. So happy! He loves eating and trying new foods now that he is one. His new favorites are strawberries, veggie burgers, shredded cheese, and turkey meatloaf with oatmeal and flax seeds mixed in. We have also been having local eggs and whole milk delivered from Monroe Dairy which Jaxson loves to drink!
Jaxson was pooped after his friend Jack Donahue's 2nd birthday party. He was so in love with his red balloon he couldn't let it go during his nap in the car. Now he spots balloons at stores and points at them and says "ball".
Studying hard! Loves his board books! Lots of learning has been going on with our lil man since his first birthday. He is now walking around a ton on his own, pointing at new things he sees, handing us toys and sharing, rolling the ball, and talking a lot more. He even has been doing pretend play by making chewing motions and pretending to take food out of his blocks and feed it to us.
Mommy and Daddy had a nice night out at the annual Mercymount Auction while Grammy and Grandpa Maynard babysat. Jaxson was a good boy as usual. Love you lil man!

Happy 1st Birthday Jaxson!

On Saturday, March 19th Jaxson celebrated his 1st birthday surrounded by all his family members and close friends. He spent the morning helping Mommy and Daddy set up for the party. After a nice nap all his loving family and friends came to help him celebrate his healthy and wonderful first year of life.
He had a carpenter themed party with lots of tools and his Daddy's childhood Tonka trucks. Clothes pinned onto measuring tape ribbon were pictures of Jaxson's growth through the past 12 months. The tablecloths were Jesse's old blueprint from previous jobs. The guests ate calzones, pizza, and pasta from a local Italian deli and enjoyed vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting topped with a white chocolate tool.
Mommy helped Jaxson open all his fabulous presents. After playing with his toys he sat in his throne for his first taste of pure sugar. The birthday boy did not know what to make of his own 6 inch smash cake. He touched it, stared at it, and then decided he would pass on the sweets. When the party was over Jaxson had a nice relaxing bath and dreamed of all the smiling faces, toys and balloons he saw today.
Thank you to everyone who helped make our baby boy's day so special!

What a wonderful year it has been having your in our lives Jaxson! xoxo

Nana comes to visit

Jaxson and I couldn't of had a better February vacation week together because......Nana came to visit. My Mom flew in from San Diego to spend a lovely week with us at the Maynard household during my February vacation. We had not seen each other in 11 months, and we had such great quality time together. We enjoyed sitting by the fire playing with Jaxson, getting pedicures, going to The Christmas Tree Shop, making dinners together, visiting friends and family, and just enjoying each other's company. Jaxson loved playing and cuddling with Nana. We tried to get him to walk for her but no luck yet!

Can't believe our lil man is almost one. Jesse and I have been hard at work planning his birthday celebration with a construction/carpenter theme. Jaxson is on the verge of walking, and gets up on one leg trying to get balance to stand unassisted. He is like a little parrot repeating us with little sayings like "hiiiiiyaa" and "la la la." He is eating all sorts of foods now like turkey meatloaf, tofu, green beans, pasta, pizza, mango and cantaloupe. He's still standing strong with 7 teeth, but is chomping on everything so one is sure to pop through soon. Jaxson is entertained by crawling around with toys in his hand, throwing his little plastic egg, flipping through board books, playing his tambourine, climbing up the stairs, and dancing to music.

Snow snow snow!

It's been quite the white winter with a total of 70'' so far. Jesse has spent a lot of time plowing earning $$ for the family, and Jaxson and I have enjoyed quite a few snow days cooking up comfort food and playing in our jammies by the wood stove. Jaxson has spent a lot of time looking out the window this winter too. He loves to watch visitors approach and wave good-bye. He is fascinated at his Dad shoveling, plowing, and bringing in firewood. He likes to check out what's going on and also thinks it's hilarious when snowballs are thrown at the window and don't hit him. He is quite the little observer.
Jaxson is obsessed with the refrigerator. If you open it he will come crawling full speed ahead to catch a chance at getting in there and checking out all the goodies. He is also not a fan of when the fridge is closed before he approaches. I think he's just a future chef in the making like his Dad.
Happy Valentine's Day! Jaxson and I received Hoodie Footie Pajamas from Jesse (DaDa) for Valentine's Day www.pajamagram.com. They are so soft and warm! I absolutely love them! Our family of three had fun hanging around the house in our cozies, and had a nice dinner of salmon with mango salsa and edamame. xoxo
Jaxson is going to be 1 next month. My oh my how time flies. He had his first independent little steps. We counted two before he reached his destination of Daddy's arms!  He just melts our hearts everyday with his accomplishments and the fun and love he brings us! Love you Jaxson!

Touchdown Jaxson!

Jaxson's new trick is his "touchdown". He started putting his arms up in the air one day during playtime and in the highchair. So every time he did it, we would say "touchdown". Now he does it on demand and is so proud of himself.  Unfortunately, his touchdowns didn't bring the Patriots any luck last Sunday.
Jaxson at 10 months now has 7 teeth, is eating lots of finger foods, and can say "ball," or something very close to it when we play with the ball or when he sees it. He even called the clementine in the fruit bowl a "baw." Yay Jaxson!

December at a glance!

Hugs with Mommy at 9 months old! Jaxson is quite the little love bug. He likes to give kisses, hugs, and reach to be picked up.
Checking out Santa at the Small Wonders Daycare Christmas party!
He had so much fun he passed right out on the way home.
It's Christmas morning...Santa came..open your stocking Jaxson!
Testing out his new baby sled and 16'' of snow! Jaxson wasn't a huge fan, but he did look SO cute all bundled even if he couldn't move. He enjoyed being inside during the cold weather watching Daddy plow and shovel through the window.
Such a big boy in his new chair...thank you Great Grammy and Papa Snyder. This will be a great climbing chair, reading char, and resting chair for many years to come.

Jesse and I had a great week off for Christmas vacation with our little man. We had lots of fun quality playing and snuggling time the three of us. We did some home organizing and hung new family photos, went to a Christmas play, out to dinner, bowling, and had a couples massage. We even squeezed in Jaxson's 9 month wellness check-up. He is 31 inches long and 22 lbs. He is hitting all his milestones, and didn't even shed a tear when he had blood drawn from his finger.
Jaxson is climbing and up to standing position on tables, chairs, couches, and even our legs. His personality is shining through and loves to play games of chase and peek-a-boo. Some of his favorite toys are his new piano, bouncy balls, opening cabinets (which are now all baby proofed), and playing with books. He loves to entertain by talking for everyone. Gack, ga ga, ba ba, da, da.
