Yard sales, pumpkins, and football....oh my! It's feeling like fall here finally. The nights are getting cooler, and the leaves are changing beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow.
We have been enjoying our lazy Sundays at home as a family watching football, and supporting our New England Patriots with our jerseys!
Jaxson is as happy as a clam. He had his 6 month check-up and is 29 inches long and 21 lbs. He loves to eat his big boy food with a spoon, and play sitting up on the rug. He had his first cold, but as usual was not too fussy and took it like a champ. Then he so graciously passed it along to his Mom and Dad. Jaxson is starting to babble more, crawl backwards and respond to his name being called.
We had a family yard sale, and as usual Jaxson was right in the middle of all the action. I wore him in my Ergo carrier and he just hung out watching all the "pickers" and even took a snooze. Papa Beez stopped by to visit, and join in on our yard sale fun. It was 80 degrees and a beautiful day to spend outside and make a few bucks.
After he woke up his girlfriend Giana came over to play with her Mommy Kat and "Auntie" Joleen. Jaxson is only 2 weeks younger than Giana and these two are a riot to watch interact.
Our family of three had some autumn fun by going to The Big Apple for some apples, cider, and donuts. Jaxson posed for us with some pumpkins and liked feeling the hay.
We're still brain storming Halloween costume ideas for Jaxson. We trying to incorporate Jesse and I into it too, any suggestions?

Back to School

We've been busy bees at the Maynard household since I have gone back to work. I have a good group of students this year, and two weeks of getting back in the teaching groove has made my mind more at ease with the transition. We have found ourselves getting into a nice routine, and getting out of the house in a timely manner in the morning has gone much smoother than I expected.  Getting things done the night before, and having Jesse on diaper and dressing duty in the morning has been the trick getting out the door on time.
Jaxson has been doing awesome at his day care, and I love the ladies that take care of him. He eats like a champ, and goes down for two naps smoothly.  All the other little boys and girls love him, and when I pick him up he's always in a cheerful mood surrounded by his little buddies interacting. Jaxson is now 20 lbs and is such a little ham. He giggles and smiles non stop, and has started to crawl backwards and rock on his hands and knees. He sits up and plays with his stacking cups, and loves to reach and grab for everything. He is constantly moving and wanting to jump on his feet. He is very proud of himself and gets a kick out of his ability to do new things.
We spent our last weekend for Labor Day down at the lake house, and we have one wedding this weekend. With fall approaching we will be stay more local enjoying being home, watching football, cooking comfort foods like chili, stew, and apple crisp, and watching the leaves change color.
