Pulled over on way home from work to snap a pic of the fall foliage!
Jaxson and Giana enjoying their frozen bananas!
Being a goof!

It's official...Jaxson has gone mobile. The lil man is crawling forward! It's so exciting to see him explore. We can't take our eyes off him for a second, he is quite the little investigator. Jaxson has also been babbling more with Da-da-da-da, and giving sweet baby kisses and hugs. He is a teething machine, as his top teeth are getting ready to pop through any day now.

This weekend is his first Halloween, and the little teddy bear is all ready to go!
Trick-or-treat!

Jaxson is almost 7 months old! I can't believe it. Everyday is a new discovery for him and Jesse and I. Watching him learn and grow is such an amazing experience. Jaxson is truly such a happy baby and rarely fusses. He loves to play on the rug banging his toys, talk (ba-ba-ba, rar-rar-rar) to us and himself, grab anything in his reach, and munch on apples, avocado, frozen bananas, and apple juice ice cubes in his mesh bag. He has started to turn to Jesse and I and give hugs!

Jaxson helped celebrate his Great Paps Tom's 86th birthday on October 8th by supplying the entertainment for the evening. He also enjoyed a family outing to Adam's Farm in Cumberland, Rhode Island. We got to check out the billy goats, cows, and horses, pick out pumpkins and take some fall photos of the little munchkin.

Oh and how could I forget. The lil' man has sprouted two lil' pearly whites on the bottom. You would never even know if they bothered him because he has been such a good sleeper, eater, and so happy. He is just chomping down more on everything and getting a little more drooly.

Jaxson and I went shopping today for a winter hat that covers his ears and ties under his chin. He will need it very soon. Especially during the late mornings during the week when he goes out for walks and enjoys the outdoors at his daycare which I can not say enough great things about. We just love it! It's a home daycare in Cumberland on the way to work. It's out in the country with no cars around, and tons of land, farms and horses around. The drive in the morning this time of year is just beautiful. All the curvey country roads, falling leaves, and passing by the cows, sheep, turkeys, and horses on the ride is so relaxing. The three women who work there and all the kids are so kind and patient.

Halloween is coming up and Jaxson is going to be a..... teddy bear! His little girlfriend Giana is going to be a pink Rabbit so stay tuned for those adorable pictures!
Happy Fall!

Yard sales, pumpkins, and football....oh my! It's feeling like fall here finally. The nights are getting cooler, and the leaves are changing beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow.
We have been enjoying our lazy Sundays at home as a family watching football, and supporting our New England Patriots with our jerseys!
Jaxson is as happy as a clam. He had his 6 month check-up and is 29 inches long and 21 lbs. He loves to eat his big boy food with a spoon, and play sitting up on the rug. He had his first cold, but as usual was not too fussy and took it like a champ. Then he so graciously passed it along to his Mom and Dad. Jaxson is starting to babble more, crawl backwards and respond to his name being called.
We had a family yard sale, and as usual Jaxson was right in the middle of all the action. I wore him in my Ergo carrier and he just hung out watching all the "pickers" and even took a snooze. Papa Beez stopped by to visit, and join in on our yard sale fun. It was 80 degrees and a beautiful day to spend outside and make a few bucks.
After he woke up his girlfriend Giana came over to play with her Mommy Kat and "Auntie" Joleen. Jaxson is only 2 weeks younger than Giana and these two are a riot to watch interact.
Our family of three had some autumn fun by going to The Big Apple for some apples, cider, and donuts. Jaxson posed for us with some pumpkins and liked feeling the hay.
We're still brain storming Halloween costume ideas for Jaxson. We trying to incorporate Jesse and I into it too, any suggestions?

Back to School

We've been busy bees at the Maynard household since I have gone back to work. I have a good group of students this year, and two weeks of getting back in the teaching groove has made my mind more at ease with the transition. We have found ourselves getting into a nice routine, and getting out of the house in a timely manner in the morning has gone much smoother than I expected.  Getting things done the night before, and having Jesse on diaper and dressing duty in the morning has been the trick getting out the door on time.
Jaxson has been doing awesome at his day care, and I love the ladies that take care of him. He eats like a champ, and goes down for two naps smoothly.  All the other little boys and girls love him, and when I pick him up he's always in a cheerful mood surrounded by his little buddies interacting. Jaxson is now 20 lbs and is such a little ham. He giggles and smiles non stop, and has started to crawl backwards and rock on his hands and knees. He sits up and plays with his stacking cups, and loves to reach and grab for everything. He is constantly moving and wanting to jump on his feet. He is very proud of himself and gets a kick out of his ability to do new things.
We spent our last weekend for Labor Day down at the lake house, and we have one wedding this weekend. With fall approaching we will be stay more local enjoying being home, watching football, cooking comfort foods like chili, stew, and apple crisp, and watching the leaves change color.

His Royal Highchairness

At 5 months old Jaxson has been enjoying the great taste of baby food and the fun of eating with a spoon. So far he has tried bananas, apples, and sweet potatoes. Great Aunt B made him some adorable bibs for his adventures in the high chair. Up next are some avocados in his mesh Baby Safe Feeder seen below. Yum yum yum!

Working Hard

Just like Dad working hard in his "office".
Jaxson has been spending a lot of time working hard in his Jumperoo. He loves to bounce and play with all the toys surrounding him. It is so fun to watch him jump and laugh, and figure out all the interactive toys in his reach.

Yummy in my tummy!

Go to fullsize image
Jaxson has started solid foods! This week he has had rice cereal in the mornings, and the past two nights at dinner too. He was showing us he was ready for big boy food by watching us eat, being hungry after feedings, and sitting up so strong. Not to mention the boy weighs 19 pounds. When the spoon "airplane" comes to him he opens his mouth, smacks his lips, and finishes his whole bowl full. Good boy Jaxson! Soon we will be introducing some fruits at meal time too.

Rice cereal is yummy in my tummy!
