Peanut Butter Diaper

Jesse, Jaxson, and I spent our first weekend down at the lake house with the Maynard family for Mother's Day. Jaxson enjoyed sitting by the fire listening to everyone talk and seeing the lake and koi pond for the first time. Mom, Dad, and baby all slept together snug as a bug in a rug.
In true Jesse fashion he gave me my mother's day gift in a very creative way. Jesse brought Jaxson upstairs to visit with Great Grandma for a little bit then came down for a diaper change. He wanted to change the baby on the couch in front of the family. So I helped him with the duty since Jesse seemed sure there was a #2 in store for us. He opened up the diaper and Jaxson let his fire hose loose by peeing on the wall...silly boy. I then saw what was not a normal poop in his diaper. Immediately I ran through all the different things I ate yesterday that could of created such an unusual substance from my lil boy. I started to clean up Jaxson with the wipe as Jesse smelled the poop and said it smelled like peanut butter...and it did. Well that was because it was peanut butter strategically placed by my dear husband, and slowly I realized that this was a joke on me yet I was still confused. Jesse then grabbed a piece of the peanut butter poo and gave it to me and said I think something is in there for you. Of course I looked at him like he had 4 heads, but based upon his smile and everyone watching me I knew this was leading to something. A beautiful Mother and Child necklace was wrapped in plastic hidden within the peanut butter. This for sure will be a Mother's Day I will never forget for many wonderful reasons. I will always wear my necklace and think of my amazing husband and son, the wonderful gift of being a Mom, and of course peanut butter.

Tummy Time

Every one in awhile we like to give Jaxson some tummy time to strengthen his muscles and help him learn to push up and eventually roll over. So far during timmy time Jaxson lifts up his head and bends his knees.
He's already proved to us how strong he is during non tummy time by holding his head for extended periods of time, and lifting it and turning it from side to side.
Way to go Jaxson!

Chunky Monkey

Today marks 4 wonderful weeks since our little man entered the world. Jaxson had his weekly visit from the visiting nurse today, and he tipped the scales at 12 lbs. 1 oz. He gained 1 whole pound just this past week. All other vitals were great, and we're off to the pediatrician next week for his one month check up. What a little chunky monkey!

Just saying Hi!

"I love my Daddy so much that I want to be just like him when I grow up...
so I am going to start by wearing a Maynard Construction pencil behind my ear so I am ready to write down some measurements and build!"

Little Buddha

Meditation Time! Ommmmmm!
Jaxson is 3 weeks old today! Yesterday the visiting nurse came to check up on our lil man, and he had an excellent healthy report. Jaxson is now 11 lbs. and 23 inches! That's more than 2 lbs. in 3 weeks. You would think I had weight gainer breast milk. We love you Jaxson and enjoy watching you learn, plump up, and change everyday right before our eyes!

2 Week Update!

Well it's been two weeks since we brought our lil man home, and it feels like he's always been here. Jesse and I having been soaking up all the precious moments of being a family of three, and just watching our son thrive and grow in his new world. He has been such a relaxed and content baby sleeping up to 4 hours and hanging out, and only fussy when he's getting a cold diaper change or hungry.  Jaxson has been one busy and lucky boy to have so much family and friends who love him and have come to visit since he has been home. Here are some things Jaxson has been up to in his past 2 weeks of life:
Doctors Visit: Jaxson had two great check-ups at his pediatrician Dr. Germain (who was also my pediatrician). He is continuing to gain weight, and is now a whopping 10 lbs. and 23 inches as of Friday, April 2nd. We go back for his one month check-up on the 22nd.
First Bath: His cord finally fell off which means he could experience his first tubby. He didn't seem much of a fan first time around. Hopefully next attempt is more pleasant.
First Family Outing: We all went to the local Capron Park Zoo for Jaxson's first exciting excursion and stroller rode this weekend. Jaxson was a very good boy just hanging out in the stroller checking things out while we walked around viewing the animals, and he only had one mini melt down. One little girl said upon seeing Jaxson that he was the best thing she saw all day!
Easter: We dressed up the lil dude in his first real outfit of corduroy pants, button down shirt, and sweater vest. He then hung out with some friends and family before he was off to Grandma and Grandpa's next door for an Easter BBQ.
