Doctors Appointment

Today I had my 33 week appointment. All is stable and well. I hopped on a different scale today since I saw a different Doctor in the practice, and it said I gained 3 pounds in this past week...must be due to the different scale ha ha because holy cow 3 pounds! My blood pressure is great at 114/60, and the baby's heartbeat is normal and strong. Monday I do a fasting test due to some sugar detected in my urine. Fasting for me is going 2 hours without eating, so this should be interesting. I'll be the first one in line at the lab in the a.m. so I can go right home and eat!  We go in next week for the weekly check up and another ultrasound to see how much bigger our little chunky monkey is since we haven't measured him in a month.

His room is ready!

His nursery is looking good! All it needs now is a little baby...but not for at least another month! Once again Daddy Jesse out did himself with his hard work and craftsmanship. We have started to decorate in his Little Builder theme. I've ordered a window valance, and we have a few little odds and ends to still get for him, but we're feeling more relaxed that we're prepared in case he comes early.

Hic..Hic..Hic..

For the past week our little man has had the hiccups everyday, sometimes twice a day. It can last for up to 20 minutes. It is quite funny feeling my belly jolt every 5 seconds. It happens at all different times of the day, but usually in the middle of the night so he can help me learn to be up for those middle of the night feedings. I thought the remedy for hiccups was to drink water upside down. This is funny because the baby is upside down and drinking water (amniotic fluid).
Hiccups is a normal activity especially in the 3rd trimester. According to "Dr. Google" only mature fetuses hiccup in the womb because their central nervous system is adequately developed in order for all this to happen. I knew our little man was so smart!  So what causes these hiccups? The baby breathes in amniotic fluid and drinks it. The fluid enters and exits his lungs then the diaphragm contracts and presto...hiccups! Good job lil man practicing your breathing, won't be long till you get a big breath of fresh air.

32 Weeks....8 to go!

Today I had my doctor's appointment and all continues to stay well. My belly is measuring exactly on track at 32 cm and the little guy's heart rate was normal at 148. My blood pressure was 120/68 and my weight remains the same as it was 2 weeks ago at 138 lbs (weight gain 23 lbs. thus far). I was surprised it didn't get higher since it's been climbing up every visit, but the nurse said it's normal and shows that I am not gaining more fluid which is good. I continue to feel good as I waddle around. My hands and feet are slowly getting a little bit chubbier so I've decided to take my rings off. I am now being seen weekly as we near the end of this joyous journey and prepare ourselves for the next wonderful journey of parenthood.

Doctor's Appointment; 30 weeks

Our sleeping angel's face! Can't wait to kiss those chubby cheeks!

Jesse and I started off our Doctor's appointment with a very exciting ultrasound. We had not seen him in 3 months so it was wonderful to see how much he has grown. We were able to see our little boy all curled up and cramped in his home. He is head down which is great, and he showed us how he can open and close his mouth and stick out his tongue. His arms and hands were up by his head, and his legs were crossed right under my ribs. His head, belly, and leg measurements put him in the 90th percentile for 30 weeks with an estimated weight of 4 lbs. 3 oz. He is a little chunky monkey. My blood pressure continues to be great, and I have packed on a total of 23 lbs. We will see the doctor again in 2 weeks.

30 Weeks......10 to go!!!

At 30 weeks our little boy is surrounded by a pint and half of amniotic fluid, but that will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room. His eyesight is continuing to develop but will only be 20/400 when he is born, and he will only be able to see objects a few inches from his cute little face. By the time he is 6 months old his eye sight will be close to normal vision. He's getting stronger and can pack quite the punch or kick. He is also strong enough to grasp his Mom and Dad's finger if he were outside the womb. Baby boy is getting fatter and gaining about half a pound a week from here on out (only 70 more days). Friday is my monthly appointment and we have our third trimester ultrasound, stay turned for those pics!

Baby's Room: Stage 1

Daddy Jesse was very busy over his Christmas vacation week as he started working on the baby's room. What a lucky baby boy to have a special room handcrafted by his Dad. Since we were short on storage space for our little guy Jesse made built in drawers, shelves, closet and cubbies. He also added a chair rail, baseboards, window blinds, and blue paint! We even put Grandpa Dan to work for some extra help! We are in the process of picking out carpet, and I have put away in his new drawers all little clothes that we have accumulated thus far. It's getting very exciting as we prepare for our little man! Awesome job Daddy Jesse xoxo!
